Wadamba Employment Pathway Mentor
Full-time | Geelong | Fixed term to 30 June 2028
Wanyaari is seeking an Employment Pathway Mentor to join our Wadamba team and support the delivery of the Bail and Remand Support Program across the Geelong region.
Working in partnership with Wathaurong Aboriginal Co-operative, the Employment Pathway Mentor will provide culturally safe, individualised mentoring to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants. The role will support participants to build greater stability, strengthen connection to culture and community, develop employment and education pathways, and work towards meaningful and sustainable employment.
About the role
Provide culturally safe mentoring and individualised support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants, including strengthening connection to family, community, culture and Country.
Develop and implement individual Employment Pathway Plans focused on personal development, cultural strengthening, employment readiness, education and training.
Build relationships with employers, employment services, training providers and Aboriginal organisations to create meaningful employment and development opportunities for participants.
Work collaboratively with Wathaurong Aboriginal Co-operative and key justice, community and service partners to support participants to achieve positive long-term outcomes.
Due to the cultural nature of the role and the participants supported through the program, we are particularly interested in hearing from Aboriginal men, with a preference for the successful candidate to be an Aboriginal male.
